Austin Camerata - Festival Finale "Reinventions"

  • The Long Center Rollins Theater 701 West Riverside Drive Austin, TX, 78704 United States (map)

Internationally renowned violinist Chee-Yun Kim and choreographer Dorothy O’Shea Overbey join Austin Camerata's conductorless chamber orchestra to present "Reinventions," a two night season finale.

Tickets are available here.

-Violinist Chee-Yun stars in Astor Piazzolla's beloved "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires" for violin and chamber orchestra.

-Austin Camerata presents one of the most powerful works of the 20th century: Dmitri Shostakovich's String Quartet no. 8 in collaboration with original choreography for five dancers. The Russian masterpiece is a powerful reflection on war, politics, and the personal struggle of a composer caught between his own demons and dictatorship under the Soviet Union. Reimagined with innovative choreography, musicians and dancers come together to augment the music's gripping narrative.
